My Story: Hello everyone, my name is Pirouette. Whilst I have a continual look of distain and the type of face that doesn’t scream “supermodel”, I’m actually smiling on the inside because I was rescued from an exhausting situation and now can access food, comfort, love and the best snoozing chairs ! I’m an older lady, which means I don’t do nonsense, just give me a quiet cuddly blanket and chair, keep the kibble and temptations coming and let me hang out with your easy-going and gentle residents cats. I especially like docile male cats to cuddle up to. I have been in a multi-cat, adult only, quiet household with someone home all the time. My human works and I snore nearby on the sofa providing a nice soundtrack to her meetings. I’m looking for an experienced patient cat-whisperer person, who won’t expect too much from me. I need them to understand that I am very skittish, it takes a while to gain my trust, and I am not a lap cat nor do I like being picked up. I like slow predictable movements and like it when my human is sitting. Once I trust you, I will rub against you and like a gentle brushing. I just need to share your house as a companion to your current gentle, easy going cats, rather than a companion for you. I like being gently brushed, have clean litterbox habits and have a lovely croaky miaow.

Foster notes: Pirouette was in a run down state when she arrived in care, but after spay surgery and a few months of TLC she is blossoming. She needs a high fibre kibble diet and sometimes suffers a little constipation. She prefers dry kibble, but also likes seafood wet food. She does much better with her water intake by using a fountain. She was a matriarch figure in the colony she came from, so has a level of seniority and experience amongst our resident cats. If someone is looking to offer a comfortable home to a gorgeous tortie girl with a distinctive face, this is your chance! The foster home recommends a video meet and greet as Pirouette is nervous of strangers and unfamiliar noises.

ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee is $165.00 (which includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first deworming, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner). There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, dewormings that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.

APPLICATION NOTE: The application for this cat/kitten may close quickly depending on the number of applications received. As our goal is to find the best match based on the cat(s) needs, only those chosen for a meet-and-greet will be contacted via email.
