Meet Tukos!
Tukos is a perfect mix of fun energy and chill vibes. At dawn and dusk, Tukos gets the zoomies, plays hard, eats, then crashes for a short time. He is light napper who chills from after breakfast until the sun sets. When it is time to get active, Tukos very politely finds his wand and drags it over to his people for interactive playtime. After playtime, Tukos happily kneads the blankets on the bed. He purrs and finds much joy in kneading.
Tukos hasn’t figured out the purpose of, or completely ignores the scratch posts around the house. He has been told the sides of the couch are not a substitute for the sisal and carpeted posts and mats that are available to him. A bit of sticky tape discourages his inappropriate scratching behavior. His family will need to be patient and help guide him to appropriate surfaces.
Tukos has experience living with a female cat and a small terrier dog who although he got along with them, they were not impressed with his eagerness to play. What Tukos might like is a furry friend to wrestle and chase!
Arriving at a new foster home, and likely in his new adoptive home he is not expected to hide, Tukos does not seem to be afraid when he's learning about a new environment. He shows energy and interest in exploring new spaces.
Even though he appears excited and carefree after a change in environment, Tukos’s anxiety may be demonstrated in inconsistent litter box success for a short time. With patience and machinations, litterbox success has been achieved quickly. His anxiety may also be reflected in a lack of appetite. Upon arriving at his first and current foster homes, he would not eat his prescribed food, so a substitute was provided until he ate this food readily and then he was successfully reintroduced to his prescription food. His daily calorie intake for a cat of his weight and age is divided over the course of the day into his breakfast, an afternoon snack, his dinner, then a before bedtime snack.
About Me:
Special Needs: Due to a history of concentrated urine and a urinary blockage, Tukos requires a prescription Urinary diet, that is majority wet food, for life. This food is by prescription and can only be obtained from a Veterinary clinic. He is currently eating Royal Canin Urinary SO CALM, thin slices in gravy. He has not shown any interest in the other available brands.

The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
