Cat Whisperer Needed? Yes
Trombone, aka "T-bone " is a bright, joyful, and hilarious boy whose enthusiasm for life is genuinely contagious. Born outside in a community cat colony, he came into rescue with his siblings. While his brothers and sisters quickly learned to trust hands, T-bone made it clear that physical touch is not his love language—forced snuggle time and swaddlings actually make him feel reclusive. He prefers to love you entirely on his own terms, from a respectful arm's length!
The Ideal "Cat Whisperer" Project: T-bone is looking for a special adopter who understands that he is a long-term project. He needs a dedicated "Cat Whisperer" who will honor his boundaries and give him time without any pressure for affection.
The Reality: It may take months—or even years—for T-bone to fully let his guard down. Potential adopters must be comfortable with the real possibility that he may never become a cuddly, touchy-feely cat.
The Reward: For a patient, experienced cat lover, earning small victories with T-bone is exceptionally rewarding. Watch him blossom from a distant observer into a loyal companion who chooses to share his world with you.
A Joyful, Social Housemate: Don't let his touch-free boundary fool you—T-bone is an absolute social butterfly who loves being right in the middle of whatever you are doing. He will greet you at the door like a little dog, hang around your space, stretch out by your feet, and occasionally test out a gentle paw-tap on your toes just to say hello. He is also a total foodie, eagerly waiting right by your side for special treats and meals.
A Haven for Other Cats: Where T-bone truly shines is with other felines. He is completely non-aggressive and serves as the ultimate "big brother" figure to younger kitten fosters, showing them the ropes and bringing out the absolute best in his feline friends.
Endless Entertainment: When it comes to play, T-bone is pure comedy
The Bug Hunter: He will relentlessly chase bugs, complete with a hilarious narrative chirp.
The Bird Watcher: He loves perched window seats, carrying on entire conversations with local birds using a series of adorable, high-pitched mews.
The High-Rise Observer: He loves to climb to the highest spots in the room to sit like a little king and watch his kingdom below.
If you have the heart, patience, and experience to give a "Cat Whisperer" cat the space he needs, T-bone will fill your home with laughter, curiosity, and a very special kind of love! He would be best with another cat-friendly in the home that he could mimic and watch. It may help him trust faster. That said - one on one may also be good if it is someone who is dedicated to put the work in on him. He loves to play and this is the way to his heart.
About Me:
Notes:
The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
