Hello, my name is Tigrinum, and I’m a sweet boy who likes to follow his whims!

I come from a forest cat community, so not only am I used to having other cats around, I really enjoy their company! I would love to have some feline friends to play with and cuddle with at night. It took me some time to get used to humans and indoor life, but now I’m very much enjoying it!

I love playing with different toys, especially pompom balls, springs, and rattling mice, and I also enjoy chasing the wand when my foster mom makes it slither around like a snake. When I’m tired of playing, I like to climb onto her lap for some pets and enjoy a few quiet moments together. I also have an independent side, and when it comes out, there’s a very good chance you’ll find me perched on a cat tree or sitting on the windowsill, watching the world outside.

About Me:

Tigrinum has a wonderful personality that balances affection, playfulness, and independence. He enjoys the company of other cats, who help him feel more confident and secure, and would love to have a feline friend in his new home. He can be a little shy when meeting new people, but his curiosity usually gets the best of him, and he'll come over to see what's going on before retreating to his favorite perch to observe. He would be happiest in a relatively calm home where he can settle in at his own pace and enjoy both feline companionship and peaceful moments.

Special Needs/Diet Notes Tigrinum has a sensitive stomach and skin sensitivities and needs to stay on a strict rabbit-protein diet (both kibble and canned food). He also takes ½ tablet of 5 mg prednisolone daily (prescribed by our Veterinary partner). Before finding the right diet and medication routine, he had very soft stool, fur loss, and recurring sores on his lower back. Since switching to rabbit food and maintaining his medication schedule, his stool has been consistently normal, his sores have completely cleared up, and his fur is growing back.

He is currently doing very well as long as his diet and medication are kept consistent. His adopter will need to maintain this regime for his health. The food he is on is Rayne Clinical Nutrition Rabbit Maintenance dry (1/2 cup per day) and Rayne Feline Maintenance Rabbit Chunky Stew (1/4 can per day) supplied by our Veterinary partner. According to Rayne's website, in Ontario this food can be ordered directly from Rayne Canada with Veterinary recommendation.

Notes:

The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
