Two Tiny Survivors Finding Their Way Home
Snowboard (Male) and Luge (Male) haven’t always had it easy. These two brothers started their lives as tiny fighters in an outdoor cat community, where they were provided food and outdoor shelters by a caring homeowner. Huddling together to survive a bitter winter, forged a bond that is absolutely unbreakable; they rely on each other for everything, using their brotherhood as a shield against the big, unknown world.
While they may be a little reserved when they first meet you, their trust is a gift worth waiting for. Once they feel safe, their true personalities shine. They are a joy to watch as they discover the simple happiness of indoor life, from the thrill of chasing a wand toy to the freedom of a late-night zoomie session. At the end of the day, these boys just want to be near you.
They love to drift off to sleep right by your side, finally resting easy knowing they are warm, fed, and loved indoors. Adopting Snowboard and Luge means giving two brave survivors the soft landing they’ve worked so hard for. They’ve spent their lives looking out for one another, and now they’re just looking for a family to join their team.
About Me:
Special Diets: Snowboard has had issues with soft stools since intake, as have a few of the cats from his outdoor community. His test for intestinal parasites was negative - no parasites nor eggs were seen. Other cats from his community have had bacterial imbalances in their digestive tract, and have responded well to prescription Gastrointestinal food.
Snowboard eats Veterinary prescribed dry and wet Royal Canin Gastro-intestinal Fibre Response food and his stools have improved. He has been picky and this is the only prescription Gastro food he will eat to date. The importance of him staying on this food has been noted on the couple of occasions he has gotten into the other cats' treats. This may not need to be for a lifetime, but he should remain on this food until his digestive system is back on track and stools consistently solid before transitioning off. As this diet can be more expensive than regular commercial food we have listed Snowboard at the Special Needs adoption fee.
Health Notes: Snowboard got himself into a spot of trouble - he somehow opened the kitchen compost bin and made off with some chicken wings... Their foster caught him with the contraband quickly, Xrays to check for chicken bones were taken and Snowboard's xray showed he had ingested something else from the compost bin... a wire, likely a twist tie. He underwent surgery to remove the wire from his intestine and he is recovering very well.
Notes:
The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
