Meet Ralsei, a three year old cat with a kitten's energy for life! Ralsei is a nervous but affectionate cat. He is uncertain in new environments, but he loves being around people! Ralsei has a lot of energy to play. He loves soft toys and people's hands and feet the best, but we are working with him to re-direct from hand/foot play. Ralsei would love to be your best friend! Ralsei was likely living on the street for most of his 3 years (estimated) before coming into care. He was fed regularly by a neighbour where he lived, but he was always outside. While outdoors he got along with the other cats and looked out for his friend. So far, he has never tried to escape outside, but as he gets more comfortable in his environment, he may try to explore. Ralsei is now good with his litterbox use, except when in his carrier. Car trips in the carrier are stressful situations for Ralsei, so we recommend minimal travelling for him. He is never aggressive, but he does like to play with his claws and teeth. Sometimes when he is playing with a person's hand, he will bite too hard (not enough to break the skin), but he is getting better as we help him learn and redirect him. He would benefit from having someone who will be patient yet firm in re-directing this type of play and can keep his claws trimmed. He is currently the only pet in the house, but as long as the other cat is not aggressive nor domineering, he should do very well with another cat
About Me:
Ralsei has a Gr 2/6 heart murmur. Ralsei has food allergies resulting in skin issues, FASS: Feline Allergic Skin Syndrome. So far we believe he is allergic to chicken. He is on a prescription hydrolyzed protein food, only available from a Veterinary clinic, and will likely need to continue on that food for life. Ralsei had 2 broken teeth extracted .
Notes:
The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
