Nippet first came into foster care as a 3 week old kitten with her mom and siblings, they had been left behind in an apartment. Fortunately a neighbour found them and took care of them until they came into foster care.
Nippet was adopted at age 4 months and was loved by her adopter who sadly became ill recently and is no longer able to care for her. So Nippet returned to foster care after 8 years.
Do you like being told what to do? Because Nippet will tell you! This lady loves to get pets and cuddle and will tell you so. She will reward you by giving LOTS of kisses. She never quite looks at you because of her lazy eye all while sticking her tongue out. She is FULL of personality. She's a great companion, she just wants some peace and quiet with a nice place to snooze.
Nippet has met the foster family dog, who is quite cat savvy and has had no issues. With the foster home resident cats she needed slow introduction, she does fine for the most part, but needs to be monitored & still has not begun to play with them. If the adoptive home has cats, introductions need to be slow and supervised.
About Me:
Health Notes: Nippet was examined by our Veterinary partner upon return to foster care. She was quite overweight at 20 pounds and was put on a structured weight loss program. With cats slow steady weight loss is recommended, so her adopter will need to commit to helping her on this journey over many months.
Nippet is pretty playful with toys despite her size.
She also had some increased lung sounds, which may be related to her size or could be indicative of asthma. This will need to be monitored. Nippet also had a rash and hair loss around her head, neck, chin and lips, These issues are consistent with an allergic response — likely food-related, environmental/seasonal, or a combination of both. Our Veterinary partner recommended a prescription food Royal Canin Satiety + Hydrolyzed Protein (dry) with a selected protein canned diet to address both her weight loss and allergies.

The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
