If you’re looking for someone to talk to and hangout with, I’m your guy! Hi, my name is Breyer but I like to be called Orie. Actually I even respond to the name Orie, pretty cool right? I’m pretty good at sound recognition, like I said I know my name, and I know the sound of treats and soft food. I absolutely love food, matter of fact food is my life. When you’re in the kitchen I am too! I love to play with mouse toys, I will bat them across the entire house then carry them around and even sometimes drown them in my water bowl. I can be quite cuddly when I feel like it but I always love to be around people no matter what. If there is a chair I can hang out on by people that is exactly where I will be. I am a very vocal dude and I will be heard no matter what, especially when it comes to food. When new people come over I love to go and meet them and when my people come home I will greet them at the stairs. If I had to describe myself in four words I would say: inquisitive, playful, loud, and cheeky. Some would say I am basically like a dog, but why in the world would I want to be a dog when I’m a cat. The first thing I do when I go to a new home is to make it my own, all the furniture belongs to me now (especially the chairs).

About Me:

Breyer was adopted from OSCatR as a kitten and returned to the Rescue six months ago with the new name of Orwell, which is why we call him Orie and he knows his name! He is an amazing companion who will be your shadow. He demands attention in short bursts and once he is satisfied with the cuddles he’s happy to sit by you - whatever room you’re in, he’s in (including the bathroom!) Health Notes: Breyer had dental surgery in January to remove some troublesome teeth. Breyer suffered from struvite bladder stones in 2021 which were surgically removed (cystostomy) . For this condition he has been on Veterinary prescribed and sourced diet : Royal Canin Feline Urinary SO dry and canned, which he should remain on for life. He has had no urinary issues since being back in foster care (6 months). Breyer also was experiencing skin issues and hair loss - he was over grooming and pulling out his hair. A Hypoallergenic - Urinary SO diet was tried but had minimal effect. So now he is on a maintenance dose of Prednisolone (steroid medication) which is keeping his skin issues managed. Neither of those issues are inhibiting his personality and love for life and his people.

Notes:

The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
