MY STORY:

Hi! My name is Elara but my foster parents call me Ella. I spent the first weeks of my life outside, so I am still pretty nervous around people. But I think I’m becoming braver every day, especially because I’m learning that I actually really like being pet and cuddled. I’m still learning to play so sometimes it might take me a while to engage but I’m learning really fast because I just need to get my paws on those dangling ribbons!

FOSTER NOTES:

Elara is a very sweet girl and appreciates all the love you give her, as long as you’re not approaching too quickly. That being said, she’s improved in leaps and bounds since we got her. She is still a little skittish as people walk around the apartment, but within a week she went from backing herself into a corner to contentedly lying on the couch. I expect that with patience and love she will learn to trust humans, and with that will come lots of cuddles. Even now she loves to be pet underneath the chin and purrs quite easily. She is less likely to go for a toy but when she does she becomes fully engaged. She loves to cuddle with her siblings and mom, but would probably not do very well with a pet with a big personality.

ADOPTION INFORMATION:

The adoption fee of $200 per kitten includes a veterinary exam, first set of shots (in a series), deworming, spay or neuter and microchip. The adopter will be responsible for the second and third set of shots if they haven’t been administered yet. In the case of kittens or adults adopted prior to their sterilization surgery, the adopter will schedule and bring their adopted cat to our veterinary partner when it is time to have their spay/neuter surgery; this is included in the adoption fee. Kittens should have their sterilization surgery around 5-6 months of age. If you are interested in meeting one of our kittens please visit our website www.helpcats.ca and complete the Adoption Interest Application. Once your completed application is received and reviewed, our Adoption Coordinator will be in contact within 24-48hrs. If you have not heard from us in this time period please check your SPAM folder. Sometimes our emails end up there.
