Meet Silver Surfer! Silver Surfer is a sweet young cat bursting with energy - she loves to play, she loves to chat and she loves to explore! Silver Surfer has a lot of energy and needs a family that will keep her busy. Silver Surfer is often seen running around the house inviting everyone to connect with her. She does this by finding her wand toy or her mousie and dropping it in front of you with a chirp. She likes to do a few rounds of "fetch" to get her cardio up before moving to a new game or puzzle. After a busy play session, Silver Surfer will need a big hug, cuddles and chin scratches before falling asleep in your lap. Silver would do well in a home with another playful cat or a calm cat-savvy dog. She is currently living with a dog in her foster home. She would also likely be ok as the only pet so long as her adopter can provide playtime and mental stimulation several times each day. Now that she is living indoors, Silver Surfer is learning everything about the house. She is one curious cat! Cooking a sauce for dinner? Silver is ready to taste it! Doing the dishes? Silver will check the water temperature! Unloading groceries? Silver is the first into a bag! She also likes to pounce attack our feet - especially feet under a blanket. We are redirecting her to soft toys instead. Silver Surfer is a skilled problem solver and is very clever. She is a lot of fun to have around! Silver Surfer arrived in foster care in August 2025. At that time, she had a very bad cold and ear mites that required treatment. Now that she is feeling better, her personality is shining through and she is ready to find her forever home.
About Me:
Silver Surfer has shown some signs that she is anxious when left alone for extended periods. Someone willing to be home more often at first and gradually increasing their time away would benefit this sweet cat and help her learn to trust that her human will return. Even with Gabapentin, car trips are stressful situations for Silver and extra care needs to be taken. So please no frequent long car trips for her. Special Diet Needs: Silver Surfer has food allergies resulting in itchy skin. We believe she is allergic to chicken. She is eating a veterinary prescribed diet, Select Protein, and will likely need to continue on this food for life, as such her adoption fee is set at Special Needs fee.
Notes:
The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
