Hi, I’m Midol! I came into the rescue very pregnant and gave birth to 4 beautiful kittens while in foster care. I was a fiercely devoted mom—so devoted, in fact, that I wasn’t too keen on anyone getting close to my babies. I may have been a bit spicy back then (what mom isn’t when her babies are little?), but now that my kittens have all been adopted, I’ve blossomed into a totally different cat. These days, I love affection—on my terms. I’ll come looking for head rubs, forehead kisses, and gentle pets. I’ve even started tolerating being picked up (progress!). That said, I’m still learning to fully trust people. I can get a bit nervous with new faces, fast movements, or if someone looms over me. And if I’ve had enough pets, I’ll politely let you know with a little hiss or soft paw swat—nothing personal, just my way of setting boundaries. I think I’d do best in a quieter home without young kids. I’ve met some senior cats here and didn’t mind them, but those young, dominant types? No thanks. I’m still figuring out how I feel about other cats overall, but respectful housemates are okay by me. Toys aren’t really my thing (yet), but I do love my scratch post and a cozy spot to relax. Right now, I’m focused on learning how to relax, feel safe, and enjoy this new chapter of life where I get to be just me. If you’re a patient, gentle soul looking for a sweet companion with a bit of sass and a lot of heart, I might just be your girl.

About Me:

It has been a pleasure to watch Midol transform from a scared protective momma to a more confident, independant cat. She snuggles with me, lets me brush her, pet her and pick her up. Some days belly pets and bum scratches are allowed, other days they are not. I continue to go at her pace and earn her trust. Midol needed to have most of her teeth extracted, she has 2 remaining.

Notes:

The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
