If you are looking for a companion who will watch over you and follow you around, that’s me! I’m HP, but I respond more to 'Mama'. I am very curious and love to watch you go about your day to day life. While I’m not cuddly just yet, I want to be: I have just started sitting on the couch with my Foster Mom, sleeping on her bed instead of under it and wherever she is working, I am hanging out in the same room as her unless it’s naptime. I love to play with squishy foam and super bouncy balls, as well as “chase kitty temptations” when my Foster Mom slides temptations across the floor for me to chase. I should warn you to watch your toes, as I love to catch them from under the bed or through blankets. Before I was adopted I got a scratch on my eye, so one eye looks different than my other one, but I catch every movement! I was only 6 months old when I had 2 kittens, who have found their furever home, so am still learning to play and find my voice. I am playful, calm, and shy, and I am getting more social by the day! I will most likely feel safe hiding when in a new environment, but once I get comfortable I like to roam free and people watch from high places.
About Me:
HP started off hiding, but now spends more of her time watching over us in the same room and continues to initiate contact with us more each day. She will sleep on top of the bed vs hiding under it, and during the day you’ll find her just behind you sleeping in a spot she feels safe and can watch you, but not not be too far from you. She still does not like fast movements and her first instinct is to run, but then she stops and watches vs immediately hiding. She is very sweet, will spend a lot of her time around you from a safe distance, and you’ll be treated with lots of back rolling and stretches. Usually later at night she is in the mood to play, and you will wake up with toys under the couch and down the stairs. She is not very food motivated aside from creamy treats but does come to inspect her food dish when the dispenser alert is sounded. She has been a sweet soul to foster and a joy to watch her become more and more comfortable and playful. CAT WHISPERER NEEDED: HP is a cat who was born and raised outside and had limited human interaction for her first months of life. But, she has shown over time that she can establish a connection with humans and be very happy indoors. She now doing very well in her indoor life, with all the perks that come with it; a family, warmth, food, company, affection and love. However, it may take awhile to achieve and build upon the same level of trust as with her foster parent. She will likely hide until adjusted. She needs a special family who will take the time to show patience and build her confidence and trust, just like their foster family did. It may take months , but she is worth it! HP is a work in progress, but the reward of saving a cat from the harshness & dangers of outdoor life is so worth the effort and time.
Notes:
The adoption fee includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner. There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
