Hi! I’m am Brisbane and I am shy little Tuxedo kitty, although I love to snuggle with my foster mom and dad. You see when I first came into care I was very afraid and I had to learn to trust, which I have slowly accomplished. I love to play with any wand but the crinkle ones are my favourite, I also love catnip stuffies. My foster mom says I’m a perfect little male kitty and she loves how I keep my beautiful black fur and white boots pristine. I have 2 siblings (Melbourne & Cairns) whom I play with all the time and I also have 3 more kitties who live here permanently, so I’m sure I will like your kitties if you have any.

Foster Notes: Brisbane is a lovely male kitten who is curious, playful and cuddly. He has a very cautious side and will retreat to his safe area when he is a bit uncertain or he experiences new noises. He has a great big prrr engine especially if he hasn’t seen you for a bit. He gets along well with his siblings as well our 3 resident cats. When Brisbane first came into care he was almost frozen in place with fear and anxiety and would hide. Over the course of 2 months he has slowly understood that he is safe here and his playful personality has come through in flying colours. He now loves to be picked up and cuddled on your lap. As Brisbane continues to be shy around strangers it would be best for him to go to a family who understands he will need time to adjust to his new people and home. Once he trusts you he will come back out of his shell. While Brisbane loves to play with the other kitties I do not feel he needs them to be happy. He needs you and plenty of love. As he will likely hide in a new environment, we recommend that Brisbane start out in a self-contained room with few hiding spots, rather than have free roam of the whole home. This way he can become comfortable with his new environment without being overwhelmed. Brisbane has been neutered and has received a good bill of health. He has also been microchipped, dewormed and his core FVRCP and Rabies vaccines are up to date until January 2025. He eats well and is using his litter box with no issues.

ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee is $225.00 (which includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner). There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
