Her Story: Bobbi Bobtail was at one point betrayed; dumped at an abandoned barn with no food, water nor comfort. But she sure doesn't hold this against her foster family---she is loving the indoor life! No thoughts of returning to the outdoors for this girl! Bobbi Bobtail showed up at a rescue trap when efforts were being made to trap another cat, EmCee. These cats all lived in an abandoned barn and all needed rescuing. Foster Notes: Bobbi's markings are unusual--two big black dots---one on the head and one on the left side and two smaller identical dots on each ear. She also sports a blackish tail. Bobbi LOVES to play with toys, especially springs and wands. That's a good thing as she craves attention and loves to play. And she is so HUNGRY for love and attention! Lots of play with toys and wand, etc. gives her the attention that she craves. At this time, she can become overstimulated. For this reason, we suggest no children in the household, at this time. She has made great progress with controlling her nipping, with a stern NO when she nips and walking away from her. She is good with other cats, unknown how she would be with dogs. Health Notes: A large lump was spotted on Bobbi Bobtails tummy so she was rescued first. A biopsy revealed that there was no cancer but rather a bad case of mastitis, which cleared up with some antibiotics. Bobbi Bobtail also only has 1/2 tail which indicates the rough life she may have been living in a barn, shared with a gang of raccoons! Bobbi Bobtail's left eye is cloudy but it doesn't given her any problems---she has vision in that eye and our Veterinary partner say that is just has to be watched. So far, it is doing fine.
ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee is $225.00 (which includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner). There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
