Hello, I am Alkali, Queen of the castle, and ruler of all other beings! I feel that I am ready to move on to rule a new Kingdom, one with a smaller amount of subjects, to live out my days being pampurrred and treated like the Queen I am! I will allow you to pet me, after all, who can resist my long, soft, black fur with stripes of gold and orange! But do not touch it for too long, because I will let you know when I have had enough! I prefer to get head scratches really, but I may eventually be more open to letting you pet me more, but only if you earn that privilege of course! I must also have tube treats available at all times, as well as real cooked chicken, as that is my favourite food! I do love good food, and that may be my weakness 😉 I don’t think I would mind having 1 cat subject in my new abode, as long as they understand that I am the ruler! I may share my ruling eventually if we are friends. I would also be ok with being the ruler of an abode with no other feline subjects. I do love all the attention for myself. And the foster lady of my current abode thinks I would make a wonderful only cat too. So if you think you may meet all my qualifications for a forever kingdom, please apply. I am looking forward to meeting my new subjects that I will rule forever! Sincerely, Queen Alkali Foster Notes: Alkali is an independent cat, and I think would do better being with only 1 other cat or even as an only cat. I think she will be more affectionate with her humans in that situation. She can be cranky with the other cats here, especially the males. She seems to prefer female cats for company. She is very quiet, I hardly ever hear her meow. She loves food, and she will get in to things if she can! She gets very excited for their real chicken treat I make them. She does allow us to pick her up but she does not care for it. She will sit on the couch with you, eventually! I think once she is comfortable and around less cats her personality will shine and she will be more affectionate with her people. She is a beautiful long haired tortie and she takes amazing care of her fur. She’s still getting used to being brushed but allows short brushing sessions. She is very independent, and usually spends her days sleeping on our downstairs couch with my 17 year old female cat. Also that is where it is most quiet in the house and where the clean laundry is 😹 She would also have no issues living in a home where her people had to go to work and leave her during the day. Alkali is a beautiful, petite, long haired tortie who is ready to learn how to be a pampered kitty now that her days of being a mom are over! She was an amazing mother to her babies 😺 She can be a bit shy at first and is still weary of sudden noises or movements, but she did not hide here, although she found the quietest place in the house to sleep! She just needs a little time to adjust to a new environment.
ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee is $225.00 (which includes a health check, first vaccination in a series and any that become due while in care, first anti-parasite treatments needed in care, spay or neuter and microchip at our Veterinary partner). There is a 10% discount when you adopt 2 cats/kittens reflected in this fee. The adopter will be responsible for any vaccine or boosters, anti-parasite treatments that are needed after adoption. Kittens usually need 3 vaccines, one month apart starting at age 7 weeks. Juveniles and Adult cats usually require 2 vaccines one month apart in the first year, then annual vaccines. Deworming is recommended at the time of each vaccine appointment. If you are intending to adopt, please be aware that your Veterinary clinic may be experiencing backlogs in scheduling appointments, so do not delay calling your clinic to book your new cat's needed booster appointment(s). Please note that cats are not tested for FIV/FeLV nor can FIP be predicted. We will share any medical information gathered during our health checks and observations revealed during their time in care. But it is important to know that some illnesses can have an incubation period of 10 days, which means that a cat can leave in good health but get sick a few days post adoption. In addition, the stress of a new environment can affect a cats’ immune system.
